Chicago Land Bridge
The Nexus Chicago Land Bridge is a solution that supports Midwest region imports and exports through Chicago.
The solution involves a private half-mile long roadway that directly connects two Nexus warehouse facilities to the CSX intermodal terminal in Bedford Park, IL. Utilizing this roadway, Nexus is able to provide drayage services to and from its warehouses without touching public roads.
The Nexus Chicago Land Bridge is especially useful for shippers with “heavy” containers. Federal and state regulations limit the amount of weight allowed to travel over public roadways. Utilizing the Nexus Chicago Land Bridge and US ports with direct terminal access, shippers can increase load capacity by up to more than 50%.

In conjunction with drayage services to and from the CSX intermodal yard in Bedford Park, IL, Nexus can provide transload services, warehousing, and/or crossdocking services.
Transload Services: This entails the devanning (unloading) of the product and the transfer of the product from ocean containers into domestic intermodal, less-than-truckload (LTL), or over-the-road (OTR) trailers, or vice versa.
Warehousing services: Our multi-client public warehousing offers flexible space at a variable cost which can grow or shrink with business needs. Long-term and short-term storage alternatives are available.
Crossdocking services: Crossdocking allows clients to route product shipped in bulk from manufacturing plants and international origins for deconsolidation into multiple shipments for direct delivery to customers.
