3PL Nexus a Proud Supporter of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN)

Nexus becomes a Sponsor of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN).  Third party logistics provider Nexus announced that it became a proud supporter of ALAN by donating at the Bronze sponsorship level.  ALAN is an organization that serves to bring the supply chain community together to respond to national disasters and support humanitarian relief efforts.

ALAN is a volunteer, non-profit organization that was created following Hurricane Katrina by concerned logistics industry professionals.  ALAN’s mission is to “engage the supply chain community to support humanitarian relief efforts in times of crisis.”  It has played a critical role in numerous relief efforts since its inception.  ALAN provides supply chain expertise, helping to coordinate and deploy products, equipment and services in response to natural or man-made disasters.

For example, ALAN responds to domestic and global needs by locating operations spaces for the American Red Cross and other relief efforts, working with the Bottled Water Association and food companies to coordinate donations, and assisting in the delivery of relief items by assisting with vessel connections, air freight and ground transportation.

Nexus CEO Dean Hansen explains, “When we saw ALAN’s presentation at last year’s CSCMP conference, we immediately felt compelled to participate.  As supply chain professionals, collectively we have the knowledge needed and  the access to the resources that make aid efforts possible.  It makes a great deal of sense that logistics companies and experts should unite.  It's an honorable concept and we are grateful to the ALAN pioneers for all of their efforts.”

ALAN has created a Relief Needs portal where companies can register to make financial and product donations.  ALAN will be promoting awareness at several upcoming industry events such as the WERC conference (May 15 – 18, Orlando, FL) and eyefortransport 3PL Summit (June 21-23, Hilton Hotel, Atlanta, GA).
